Briar Tea Bungalows

These British colonial bungalows were built between 1910 and 1920 across Valparai, Megamalai and Munnar. Individually all Briar Bungalows have clear-cut personalities of their own. All of them are strategically and aesthetically built within Briar tea plantations spread over 23,000 acres to capitalize on the spectacular and unobstructed views unique to each, offering 360 degree magnificent views of mountains, valleys as well as lakes.

As soon as you step inside these Bungalows you are inspired to time travel to a past era of glorious plantation culture. The Victorian style furniture, the spacious rooms and the fire places, add to the mesmerizing nostalgic sense.

As time moves on, you will begin to experience the genuine pampering of the butler service tradition customary at each Bungalow. At all Bungalows there is a prescribed menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The butler and his team are committed to making you feel real special. And somewhere down the road, our host and guest relationship will converge to that of a family bond. You are guaranteed to feel thoroughly at home!

Why Briar Tea Bungalows?

Nostalgia galore! That is the most befitting expression to characterize the Briar Bungalows. The minute you walk into a bungalow, you will feel that you have frozen a luxurious time frame from the colonial past in a well maintained palatial house strategically placed within an old plantation that still meets the highest of hospitality and amenity standards. Built over 80 to 90 years back, the interior of these Bungalows are tastefully furnished with a combination of high quality teakwood and rosewood. Besides, an obvious culture of meticulous butler service-ethic prevails here with unprompted courtesy. The quality of the food served is of course consistent with every other aspect reflected here of an old planter’s life abundant in rich and fascinating experiences that is bound to remain in your memory for a life-time.
